Description

A creamy and delicious Mexican-inspired drink that combines the flavors of chocolate and cinnamon.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup long-grain white rice
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup brewed espresso or strong coffee
  • Ice for serving

Instructions

  1. Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. Combine the rinsed rice and water in a blender and blend until smooth.
  3. Strain the rice mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a large bowl, discarding the solids.
  4. Add milk, sugar, cocoa powder, ground cinnamon, vanilla extract, and brewed espresso to the rice water and stir well.
  5. Chill the mixture in the fridge for at least 2 hours.
  6. Serve over ice and enjoy!

Notes

  • This drink is best served chilled.
  • Feel free to adjust the sweetness by adding more or less sugar.
