- 1 tablespoon cornstarch

Instructions
- In a saucepan over medium heat, combine sugar, vinegar, garlic, red pepper flakes, and salt. Stir until sugar is dissolved.
- In a small bowl, mix cornstarch with water to make a slurry.
- Slowly pour the slurry into the saucepan and stir until the sauce thickens.
- Remove from heat and let it cool before using.
- Store in a jar in the refrigerator.
