- 500 grams galgal (round raw gourd)
- 2 tablespoons mustard seeds
- 1 tablespoon fenugreek seeds
- 2 tablespoons turmeric powder
- 2 tablespoons red chili powder
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1 tablespoon black salt
- 2 tablespoons vinegar
- 1 tablespoon sugar
Instructions
- Wash and clean the galgal thoroughly.
- Cut the galgal into quarters and remove the seeds.
- In a pan, dry roast the mustard and fenugreek seeds until fragrant.
- Grind the roasted seeds into a coarse powder.
- In a mixing bowl, add the galgal pieces, ground spices, turmeric, red chili powder, salt, black salt, vinegar, and sugar.
- Mix everything well until the galgal is coated with the spices.
- Store the mixture in a glass jar, making sure it’s tightly packed.
- Let it sit in the sun for 3-4 days, shaking the jar daily.
- Once done, it can be enjoyed with meals.
