A comforting and delicious cottage pie made with minced meat and topped with creamy mashed potatoes.

- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup carrots, diced
- 1 cup peas
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 4 cups mashed potatoes
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1/2 cup milk
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Add onions, garlic, carrots, and peas. Cook until vegetables are tender.
- Stir in tomato paste, beef broth, and Worcestershire sauce. Simmer for 5-10 minutes.
- Pour the meat mixture into a baking dish.
- Spread the mashed potatoes on top of the meat mixture.
- Smooth the top with a fork and dot with butter.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, until golden brown.
- Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add herbs like thyme or rosemary to the meat mixture.
- Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
