Description

This Buttermilk Honey Cornbread is a moist and sweet side dish that pairs perfectly with chili or barbecued meats.


Ingredients

  • 2 large eggs


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Grease a 9-inch square baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, combine cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together buttermilk, honey, vegetable oil, and eggs.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and smooth the top.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the top is golden and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  7. Let cool before cutting into squares.
